Every Cub Scout registered Leader should try to attend basic training if at all possible. Most training is scheduled for a Saturday, and once you complete a phase of training, you're done for three years. These are the training levels available:
1) Fast Start Training - available online (here) - gives the Leader a quick overview of Cub Scouts
2) Youth Protection - available online (here) - this training is a MUST for any Adult Volunteer working with Cub Scouts
3) New Leader Essentials - given during the fall by the Saratoga District; an overview of what's required of Cub Scout Leaders
4) Cub Scout Leader-Specific - given during the fall; this training provides information specific to the position you've volunteered for.
In addition to the basics listed above, these other types of training offer Leaders more opportunities for learning:
1) Webelos Outdoor Leader Training - required by Webelos Leaders who want to take their Den on a camping overnight
2) BALOO - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation
3) CPR and First Aid
