Welcome Tiger Cubs and Parents

Welcome to Pack 24 and Scouting!

Scouting gives you a special opportunity to get involved as a family and create lasting memories.

There should be one Tiger Cub Facilitator that attends the monthly Den Leader meetings in order to get information that gets passed on to the Tiger Den Leaders.

Tiger Cub Facilitator (Generally the Facilitator will also be a Tiger Den Leader).

1) Identify possible Tiger Den Leaders and organize the boys into dens.
2) Provide the overall planning (suggestions) for the year.
3) Attend the monthly Pack 24 Den Leader meetings (or ask a Tiger Den Leader to attend).
4) Pass on information and Pack events to the Tiger Cub Den Leaders.
5) Submit Advancement forms for the Tiger Badges when appropriate - or let Den Leader know how to do it.

Tiger Cub Den Leaders (Each Den should have 10 or fewer scouts, preferable arund 7 boys is best).
1) Set up an introduction meeting with the Adult Partners and Tiger Cubs.
2) Pass Pack and Den information to the Den members.
3) Have the Adult Partners sign up for a month that they will be responsible for having the Den meeting and outing. E-mail works really well to communicate with the Den members. Remind the Adult Partner to send out e-mail when their meeting & outing will be.
4) From the "Cub Scout Program Helps 200X-200X", hand out the "Tiger pages" from the different months to the Adult Partners that will be hosting that month. The Program Helps pages can help give the Adult Partner some ideas for gathering and crafts at the Den meeting.
5) Pass out and collect forms for Pack events.
6) Track the Tiger Achievements and Electives.
7) Hand out recognition items (totem belt, totem beads, track beads).
8) Target the Den to met the Tiger Achievements by the March Pack meeting.
9) In March, start attending the monthly Den Leader meeting run by the Pack Cub Master.

Adult Parners (either the Mother or Father who attends meetings and outings with Tiger Cub)
1) Attend Introduction meeting
2) Pick one month to lead a Den meeting at your house and schedule a "Go See It" activity. Ask Den Leader for suggestions and possible activities that will count toward achievements or electives.
3) At least a couple of weeks ahead of date, let other Den members know the date and time of the Den meeting and outing. Provide supplies for activities.
4) Have one Den meeting (see pages 12-17* on how to hold a meeting).
5) Plan and coorinate one "Go See It!" activity. Collect money if needed. Since each Scout has an Adult Partner, no permission slips are needed at the Tiger rank.
6) Read through Tiger Club Handbook with your son, sign off as "Akela" on Achievements and Electives completed.
7) Focus on Achievements 1 - 5 labeled Family Activity (target to complete by March Pack meeting).
8) Actively participate each month with your son in the Den and Pack activities. (Note that some activities may be planned for the Tiger's family to attend.)
